A Nearly 200-Year Legacy Barber — Preserving the Spirit of “Ivy” in Azabu
Our barbershop was founded in 1818, the first year of the Bunsei era.
Nearly 200 years ago, the first-generation owner, Kichigoro Tsutaya, opened the shop here in Azabu.
We take pride in being one of the oldest barbershops in Japan.
Since our founding, we have never left the Azabu area.
For generations, we have remained deeply rooted in the community,
continuing to provide a barbershop that is cherished by the people who live here.
The name “Tsuta” (Ivy) of our founder translates to “IVY” in English.
From that word, the initials “I.B.” were born, representing our aspiration toward
“International Beauty”—a commitment to delivering refined, world-class grooming and service.
